SOLAR GRATES:  Mounting

  • The Prototype Grate design has used two example mounting methods:  "L" screws, and "Pop-in".

L Screw Method

  • Screws installed in window frame surround Grate periphery.

  • L Screws are rotated to constrain the Grate or release it.

  • Grate rests on the sill where possible.

  • Installation/removal takes only seconds.

  • Vinyl guides attached to the building or window frame.

  • Pop-in acts like an envelope and the Grate slides in and out.
