  1.  Savings based on Utility bills.

  • Utility bills show summer electricity for air conditioning reduced by 70%.

  • 70% is based on Grate depth @ 1.2x cell size.

  • Savings above 70% available with Grate depth > 1.2x cell size with no loss of light but view more restricted.

2.  Savings based on Test Rig data.

Shows a custom test rig for documenting the performance of the Grates under various configurations and conditions. Temperature rise is measured to quantify infrared blocking.

  • Test data shows Grate reduces infrared heating by about 70%.

  • Test Rig capable of testing various Grate configurations.  Ex:  IR heating approaches zero with Grate depth > 4x cell size.

  • Other tests:  texture effects, color, interior blinds impact, angle of sunlight, non-uniform Grate laminates.
